About Us

In the 1980s, Doug started his furniture training in Germany. After returning to the States, he started the business in 1993 as a small refinishing company out of his garage. His main focus was high-quality wood furniture restoration. Diane joined him in 1994 and they created the D George team. 

Their first large project was the Texas State Capitol Restoration Project in 1995 when they restored furniture from the Capitol and also made furniture replications. 

Their success with this project was a springboard for their growth in the Austin area. 

Continuously changing and growing in the Austin market, D George has become well-versed in upholstery, window treatments, and acoustic panels.
